SUNBURY - Six area residents were elected to office through write-in votes in the Nov. 8 general election, according to official count figures reported by the Northumberland County Board of Elections.
The write-in winners will receive letters from the county elections office, advising them of their election. In order to take office, a write-in winner must advise the office that he or she is willing to accept the position.
Write-in winners are:
Marion Heights tax collector - Doris Fernandez, 16 votes.
Snydertown Borough Council - Jeffrey Renn received 18 votes for a four-year term. Since he also won a two-year term, Renn will have to designate which of the positions he will accept.
West Cameron Township supervisor - Michael Foulds, 28 votes.
Line Mountain School Board, Region III - Marlin F. Yeager Jr., 20 votes.
Jackson Township supervisor - Laverne Foreman, 11 votes.
Little Mahanoy Township supervisor - Robert F. Long Jr., 15 votes.
