SUNBURY - In the lone contested race for one of the county's four magisterial district judgeships - all of which were up for election - Republican Benjamin Apfelbaum came out the winner.
Apfelbaum's 2,684 unofficial votes was enough to top his Democratic opponent Kymberley Best, who tallied 1,897.
The two were picked to compete in Tuesday's General Election by their respective political parties.
Best and Apfelbaum were selected to run for the position following the sudden death in July of incumbent Carl Rice, who had been renominated in May in both parties without opposition.
Incumbents Hugh Jones, Robert Bolton and John Gembic III all were re-elected unopposed and totaled 3,632, 2,513 and 3,081 unofficial votes, respectively.
