'Dueling Pianos' tickets available

COAL TOWNSHIP - The Fabulous "Dueling Pianos" will appear Saturday, Oct. 22, at the newly renovated Brady Fire Company hall, Ranshaw.

The doors will open at 7:30 p.m. with the show running from 8 to 11:30 p.m., featuring Tony T. and Wildman Joe.

Tickets are $20 each and include, food, drink and entertainment. Tickets are available at the Coal Township secretary's office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, Brewser's SportsGrille, the Brady Fire Company, Irish Isle Provisions, Tom Olcese Pharmacy, or from any member of the recreation committee.

Milling of highway in Kulpmont

KULPMONT - A contractor will mill Route 61 in the borough Wednesday through Friday.

Paving is scheduled to start Monday, Oct. 17, and is expected to be done by Oct. 26.

Because this work will be curb-to-curb, the contractor requests that all vehicles be removed from Route 61 from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily starting Wednesday.

Work-zone traffic will be restricted to one lane and will be controlled by flaggers.

The $789,114 resurfacing project is scheduled to be complete by early November.

Office closed Monday

KULPMONT - The Kulpmont-Marion Heights Joint Municipal Authority's office will be closed Monday in observance of the Columbus Day holiday.

Special meeting to discuss flooding

MOUNT CARMEL - The Mount Carmel Borough Council will hold a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in borough council chambers, 137 W. Fourth St., to discuss possible solutions to the Shamokin Creek flooding. All residents directly affected by the recent flooding are invited.
