MOUNT CARMEL - President Cindy Saukaitis opened the monthly meeting of the Carmelite 50 Plus Club, greeting the nine members and officers who attended.
The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, the Senior Adult Ministry prayer, the Mother Pauline prayer, the Over 50 song, a verse of "America" and prayers for the safety of U.S. troops. Members also sang "Happy Birthday" for Al Visintainer.
After the meal, Maria Kaminski, secretary, read the minutes from the last meeting, which were approved without correction and placed on file. Visintainer gave the treasury report. The report, approved on motion of Alma Zosh and Jenny Nolan, will be available for audit.
Saukaitis announced the regional meeting was scheduled for Sept. 14 at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church. She announced that a check for a patron ad for the booklet was for the Mass and banquet was forwarded by the club.
Visintainer and Evelyn Milewski won the 50/50.
The next meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Oct. 13 at Visintainer's. The meal will include soup, salad, chicken and waffles, peas and carrots. Kaminski will bring pumpkin pies.
The meeting was adjourned on motion of Milewski and Nolan. Members played bingo.
