Tree sale deadline extended
SUNBURY - The Northumberland County Conservation District's 41st annual Tree Sale deadline has been extended to Monday.
Tree varieties to be sold include evergreens, fruit trees, deciduous trees, ornamental trees and bushes. Along with a large variety of trees, other plants will be sold including spring flowers, ground covers and wildlife seed mix with native grasses.
Again this year, the District is selling 55-gallon rain barrels. Rain barrels are a great way to store rainwater runoff collected from rooftops, and then reuse for lawn and garden watering, washing cars or cleaning windows.
Judy Becker, manager of the Northumberland County Conservation District said the sale provides a diverse selection of both natives and non-native trees to honor requests received over the past 41 years.
Order forms are available by contacting the conservation district office at 286-7114, extension 4, or online at www.nccdpa.org. Availability is limited for some species. Payment is due with the order, and can be made by check, money order or credit card.
Items are available for pick up April 27 and 28 at the Rockefeller Township Building, located on Seven Points Road, off of Route 890 south of Sunbury.
