SHAMOKIN - The following hearings took place Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III. Defendants ordered to appear for arraignment in Northumberland County Court, Sunbury, can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
n Thomas W. Graver Jr., 47, of 214 W. Walnut St., Shamokin, waived to court charges of simple assault and harassment and was ordered to appear for arraignment Oct. 24.
Graver was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Jarrod Scandle with assaulting Sheri Kozar, causing her to seek medical treatment at Shamokin Area Community Hospital.
Police said the assault occurred July 22 at Graver's residence.
n Blaine Hoover, 21, of 1400 W. State St., Coal Township, waived to court two counts of terroristic threats and one count of harassment relating to an Aug. 29 disturbance at his home.
The charges were filed by Coal Township Patrolman Chad Yoder.
Police reported Hoover began badgering his mother, Melanie Hoover, unplugged her phone when she went to call 911, threw pizza on the floor, spit in her face, grabbed a knife from a kitchen drawer, pointed the knife at his mother and uncle, Scott Anderson, and threatened to kill them before fleeing the residence.
He was ordered to appear for arraignment Oct. 24.
n Philip Bilbay Jr., 37, of 1039 W. Water St., Coal Township, waived to court charges of simple assault and harassment and was ordered to appear for arraignment Oct. 24.
The charges were filed by Coal Township Deputy Police Chief Chris Williams in connection with an Aug. 29 disturbance at his home.
Police said Bilbay is accused of punching and pushing his girlfriend, Janell Schickley, into a front door, causing her arm to go into the glass and cut her right elbow area.
n Joseph J. Galgocy, 53, of 1001 E. Sunbury St., Shamokin, waived to court two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of parking a vehicle within an intersection relating to a July 5 incident at Market and Chestnut streets.
The charges were filed by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II.
Galgocy was ordered to appear for arraignment Oct. 24.
n Randal L. Krallman Jr., 25, of 10 N. Market St., Apt. B, Shamokin, pleaded guilty to a summary offense of retail theft and was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus costs.
A misdemeanor charge of retail theft was withdrawn.
Krallman was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Darwin Tobias III with stealing meat from Weis Markets on Aug. 17.
n Marc J. Albertini, 25, of 140 Sugar Hollow Road, Paxinos, pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and was ordered to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on probation for six months.
Additional charges of theft, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct were withdrawn.
Albertini was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II with stealing a cell phone battery from the residence of his former girlfriend, Cassandra Catino, of 120 Academy St., Shamokin, on Aug. 12.
