'Talking train' new at display
DANVILLE - The free Saturday Trains program at Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, Pine and East Market streets, will be open as usual from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday with a brand new "talking train," the Amtrak "Pennsylvanian," among the dozens of trains children and adults can play with.
The free Wheelchair Engineers program at the Columbia Mall, with its wheelchair-accessible model train layouts, will be open for its usual hours, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Monday and every Monday across from the Lenscrafters store at the Sears end of the mall.
Volunteers sought
SHAMOKIN - The Salvation Army is seeking volunteers to help clean the basement of its retail store at 141 E. Independence St.
Due to extensive flooding, donated items collected and stored in the basement area were ruined. No donations are being accepted at the store at this time until further notice.
The store was closed Thursday but is expected to reopen today.

Bingo canceled
SHAMOKIN - Bingo originally scheduled for Monday at Mother Cabrini church hall, North Shamokin Street, is canceled due to extensive flooding.
