Open houses this week at MCA
MOUNT CARMEL - There will be an open house at Mount Carmel Area Elementary School tonight and Thursday and at the junior-senior high school Wednesday.
Students and parents of children in kindergarten through third grade should attend the session at 6 p.m. today. Students and parents of children in fourth through sixth grades should attend the session at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Students in seventh through 12th grades and their parents should attend the junior-senior high session at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
All parents and students are urged to attend.
Heritage museum open this weekend
SHAMOKIN - The Shamokin-Coal Township Heritage Museum, located on the second floor of the American Legion Building, Independence St., will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, donations will be accepted. Duplicate museum items and Northumberland County Council for the Arts and heritage items are for sale to benefit the museum, council and heritage parade.
Civil War dancers perform
SUNBURY - The Susquehanna Civil War Roundtable will feature the Civil War Dance Ensemble at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Degenstein Library, 40 S. Fifth St. They will present the history of Victorian era dance as well as give demonstrations. All are welcome to attend. For more information, call Greg Kline at (717)571-6877.
