K of C holds Second Degree installation
MOUNT CARMEL - Twenty-five men from six councils of the Knights of Columbus advanced in their journey to knighthood by taking their Second Degree March 13 in Mount Carmel. The degree was sponsored by Bishop Lawrence F. Schott Council 628. There were three candidates from Shamokin Council 458, three from Mount Carmel Council 628, one from Danville Council 2314, five from Selinsgrove Council 3780, four from Kulpmont Council 4281 and nine from Elysburg Council 14161.
Dignitaries attending the ceremony were James Bailoni, master of Pennsylvania Central District of the Fourth Degree; David Shinskie, District 54 deputy and Pennsylvania legislative director; David Berezovske, grand knight of Council 628, and Louis Odorizzi, grand knight of Council 14161. Bailoni led the degree team.
A Third-Degree ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Catheral of St. Catherine in Allentown. Candidates are to report at 1 p.m. to register.
ELYSBURG - A Polish Lenten dinner will be held every Friday during Lent from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 635 W. Center St., Elysburg.
Platters include pierogies, potato cakes, halushki, applesauce, sour cream, dessert and beverage. The price is $6 for adults and $4 for children.

ELYSBURG - Elysburg Knights of Columbus will hold meetings at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month in the Father Charles Slough-Knights of Columbus Hall at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Elysburg.
Meeting dates for the remainder of the year are April 13, May 11, June 8, July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14.
