n MOUNT CARMEL - Derek Christopher Kranzel, 21, of 320 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel, pleaded guilty to a charge of disorderly conduct during his preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel. He was ordered to pay $500 in fines and court costs and restitution, and was sentenced to a year of probation.

Kranzel was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Patrolman Matthew Dillman following a June 27 disturbance at 305 N. Oak St., Mount Carmel, in which he was accused of arguing with his 17-year-old girlfriend after consuming alcohol, jumping on the hood of a silver Volkswagen and striking the front windshield.

The windshield shattered, making the vehicle inoperable, said police. There was also blood observed on the vehicle.

A charge of criminal mischief was withdrawn in the case.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Hunter D. Hall, 20, of Lock Haven, pleaded guilty to charges of retail theft and one count of possession of Xanax or alprazolam during his preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel. He was ordered to pay $500 in fines and court costs, and was sentenced to a year of probation.

Hall was charged by Patrolman Chris Daily following a June 22 incident at Knoebels Amusement Resort, in which he was accused of stealing a tie-dye T-shirt valued at $14.95 from the Shirt Shop in the park.

Charges of receiving stolen property and possession were withdrawn from the case.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Kelly Anne Geist, 22, of 851 Center St., Coal Township, waived to court Wednesday charges of driving on roadways laned for traffic and two counts of driving under the influence and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel, to appear for arraignment at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Geist was charged by Ralpho Township Patrolman Christopher Grow with the offenses relating to an April 3 traffic stop on Route 487 in front of the Presbyterian Church after she was observed swerving.

Geist allegedly failed sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. She had a blood-alcohol level of .113 percent.

At her arraignment, Geist can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

Bail was set at $5,000.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Edward M. Bachorik, 45, of 283 Penn Ave., Elyburg, waived to court Wednesday charges of driving under the influence, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked and careless driving and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel, to appear for arraignment at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Bachorik was charged by Ralpho Township Patrolman Christopher Grow with the offenses relating to March 27 traffic stop on Route 487 near Knoebels Amusement Resort after he was observed swerving over the yellow lines, hitting the brakes and speeding up.

He allegedly failed sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.

At his arraignment, Bachorik can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

Bail was set at $5,000.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Allen J. Deibler, 29, of 205 S. Penn St., Sunbury, waived to court Wednesday charges of two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under suspension and a red light violation and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel, to appear for arraignment at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Deibler was charged by Kulpmont Patrolman Cade Holden with the offenses relating to a March 5 incident at Sixth and Chestnut streets, Kulpmont.

Police reported Deibler had a blood-alcohol content of .133 percent.

At his arraignment, Bachorik can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

Bail was set at $5,000.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Kylee Elizabeth Wargo, 22, of 600 W. Girard St., Atlas, pleaded guilty to charges of possession of marijuana during her preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel. She was ordered to pay $453.50 in fines and court costs.

Wargo was charged by Mount Carmel Borough Patrolman Anthony Galla following an April 21 incident in the parking lot of Walnut Street baseball field, in which she was accused of possessing a smoking pipe in her red 1996 Chevrolet CP.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Charges of forgery, theft by deception and two counts of access device fraud were ordered bound to court against Dwayne E. Stewart, 40, of Philadelphia, following a preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.

He was charged by Trooper David Townsend of state police at Stonington following a Jan. 6 incident in Ralpho Township, in which Stewart is accused of forging the name of James Mudry, 54, of Ralpho Township, on a check paid to the order of D. Stewart Construction for $14,500 and then cashing the forged check at Wilson's Check Cashing in Philadelphia.

Stewart was arraigned on the charges in March by Magisterial District Judge Hugh Jones of Mount Carmel and released on $20,000 unsecured bail.
