District Court 7/28/11

n SHAMOKIN - Edward M. Bachorik, 45, of 283 Penn Ave., Elysburg, waived to court Tuesday two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of retail theft involving two separate incidents.

Bachorik was charged by Coal Township Patrolman David Sage with two counts of DUI relating to a March 8 incident at the Arch Street Car Wash.

The defendant also was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Matthew Hashuga with retail theft for allegedly stealing a case of cigarettes valued at $1,670.40 from the Optima Gas Station near Wal-Mart Supercenter along Route 61 on May 11.

Bachorik was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment Aug. 29 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Tyler A. Hallden, 18, of Northumberland, pleaded guilty Tuesday to disorderly conduct and retail theft and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay $300 in fines plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.

A charge of false reports to law enforcement authorities was withdrawn.

Hallden was charged by Coal Township Patrolman David Sage with stealing a Cpy-Net video watch valued at $49.97 from Wal-Mart Supercenter along Route 61 and providing police with false identification.

n SHAMOKIN - Michael Filarski, 30, of 619 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to retail theft and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $50 fine plus costs and restitution.

Filarski was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Jason Adams with stealing a chainsaw valued at $122 from Wal-Mart Supercenter along Route 61 on June 12.

n SHAMOKIN - Benjamin J. Kehler Jr., 46, of 804 N. Washington St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to disorderly conduct and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $50 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for six months.

Kehler was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Joshua Wynn with screaming, swinging a large stick and throwing rocks at passing vehicles while walking along Route 2026 in Sagon on April 8.

n SHAMOKIN - Tonya Wilk, 28, of 211 S. Seventh St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to criminal trespass and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $100 fine plus costs.

Wilk was charged by Shamokin Cpl. Darwin Tobias III with trespassing at 236 W. Walnut St. on June 17.

n SHAMOKIN - Nathan D. Yucha, 26, of 863A Chestnut St., Kulpmont, waived to court Tuesday a charge of retail theft and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment Aug. 29 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury.

Yucha was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Terry Ketchem with stealing various cosmetic items valued at $84.27 from Wal-Mart Supercenter along Route 61 on June 19.

At his arraignment, Yucha can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Stephanie Jeffery, 20, of 508 E. Willow St., Shamokin, waived to court Tuesday a charge of retail theft and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment Aug. 29 at Northumberland County Courthouse in Sunbury.

Jeffery was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Chad Yoder with stealing merchandise totaling $193.59 from Wal-Mart Supercenter along Route 61 on June 2.

At her arraignment, Jeffery can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Shawn McBride, 32, of 1419 Wabash St., Coal Township, pleaded guilty Tuesday to disorderly conduct and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic to pay a $50 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for six months.

Charges of simple assault and harassment were withdrawn.

McBride was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Terry Ketchem with assaulting his wife, Juanita McBride, at their residence on July 3.

n SHAMOKIN - Lori Britton, 39, of 409 Water St., Ranshaw, pleaded guilty Tuesday to harassment and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $100 fine plus costs.

An additional charge of simple assault was withdrawn.

Britton was charged by Coal Township Patrolman Terry Ketchem with assaulting her husband, Andrew Britton, at their residence at 10:17 p.m. Friday.
