MOUNT CARMEL - WVIA Media hosts an "artist of the week" segment to recognize talented high school students. Two Mount Carmel Area students have been chosen as artists of the week.
In the art category is junior, Ashley Doyle, a daughter of Elizabeth Wondoloski, of Mount Carmel. When drawing, she likes to work with charcoal and pastels. Her inspiration is surrealist artist, Roger Dean, who designs poster and album cover art. Her other inspirations include mythology, nature, music, and religion.
In the music category is senior, Christopher Stellar, a son of Bernard and Michele Stellar, of Kulpmont. Chris participates in chorus, symphonic, marching band, jazz, pep, district band and district jazz band. Chris also performed with the Susquehanna and the Lebanon Valley College honors bands. His favorite instruments are the trumpet and piano. Chris is inspired by MCA musicians, Brian Leslie, Sam Rovito, Nicole Rosko, and jazz great Vaughn Nark.
Both Chris and Ashley have been interviewed by the WVIA-TV station, and the segment showcasing their talents will air the week of May 24.
