ATLAS - Tom Molesevich was the person representing D. Molesevich and Sons Construction Co. at Wednesday night's meeting of the Mount Carmel Township supervisors. A story in Thursday's News-Item incorrectly said it was company owner Dennis Molesevich, Tom's brother.

Tom Molesevich, who has worked for the company for 38 years, was at the meeting in reference to repeated claims from Atlas resident Joseph D. Chimel about dirt and noise coming from the former coal breaker property that Molesevich and Sons is renovating in Atlas. Molesevich said Chimel's complaints are in retaliation for the company turning him down for a job.

The News-Item did not witness any response from Chimel at the meeting and did not report on any comments from him. Chimel called The News-Item Thursday saying he deserved a response to the accusation. Chimel said his complaints are based on Molesevich not abiding by law regarding noise and dirt at the work site and that they have nothing to do with the job situation.

Meanwhile Thursday, Dennis Molesevich, contacted for further comment, said he stands by his brother's claim about the job rejection. Also, he said it's been pointed out at township meetings that, while the breaker has operated since 1940, it's only since Molesevich's ownership that Chimel has logged any complaints with DEP.

Molesevich also noted that he donated a street sweeper to the township and has told them to bill him for the fuel and manpower to run it, and that he is building access roads that will allow him to enter and exit the breaker property without using residential streets in Atlas but that they will take some time to complete.
