ASHLAND - A Lebanon man is in Schuylkill County Prison after failing to post $45,000 straight bail after two incidents on Monday night and early Tuesday morning. Borough police said Bryan Kervin Hoffer, 29, of 1023 Walnut St., Lebanon, twice attempted to enter the back seat of a vehicle in the parking lot of Boyer's Food Market, around 10:43 p.m. Monday. The vehicle was occupied by a female customer, who called police about his repeated attempts. After their arrival, police found Hoffer hiding near the Dollar General store. When approached, Hoffer was observed discarding a marijuana pipe. He was taken into custody and transported to the police station.

At 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Hoffer was being prepared to be transferred to a police cruiser to be taken to the magisterial district judge. He refused to enter the cruiser, struck an officer in the face with handcuffs and kicked another officer in the legs.

Hoffer was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Elizabeth Romig in Frackville. On the first incident, Hoffer was charged with robbery of a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia, with straight bail set at $15,000. On the second incident, Hoffer was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, with Romig setting straight bail at $30,000. Police said Hoffer admitted to having used bath salts prior to the incidents.
