SAN DIEGO, Calif - During an event held Sept. 6 at SeaWorld San Diego, Amusement Today announced the winners of its 2014 Golden Ticket Awards, which included Knoebels Amusement Resort.
Knoebels' Flying Turns received the Golden Ticket Award for "Best New Amusement Park Ride of 2014," and "Best Carousel" for its Grand Carousel.
In addition to the first place awards, Knoebels ranked in a number of other categories as follows: Fourth, Top 10 Wood Roller Coasters of 2014 for the Phoenix; Second, Best Food; Third, Best Halloween Event; Fourth, Best Park; Fourth, Friendliest Park; Fourth (tie), Best Dark Ride for its Haunted Mansion; and Fourth, Best Indoor Roller Coaster for its Black Diamond.
The Golden Ticket Awards annually recognize the "Best of the Best" in the amusement industry and are calculated from an international poll conducted by Amusement Today. The results are from a survey that is sent to a database of experienced and well-traveled amusement park fans around the world asking them to rate the "bests" in 25 categories.
