n SHAMOKIN - Linda L. Rupert, 40, and her live-in boyfriend, Michael J. McNulty, 43, both of 725 E. Packer St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to disorderly conduct and were each ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $200 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for one year.

Charges of simple assault and harassment were withdrawn against both defendants.

Rupert was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II with scratching McNulty in the face, causing lacerations. McNulty was charged by Siko with throwing Rupert to the ground, punching her in the face and kicking her in the face and neck, causing injuries.

Police said the assaults occurred Feb. 12 at the couple's residence.

n SHAMOKIN - Terry G. Bordner, 50, of 2405 Upper Road, P.O. Box 263, Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to disorderly conduct and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $300 fine plus costs and placed on supervised probation for six months.

An additional charge of harassment was withdrawn.

Bordner was charged by Patrolman Darwin Tobias III with attempting to lure a 12-year-old girl into his truck to go to a party on Nov. 12 in the first block of North Market Street.

n SHAMOKIN - Denise Palumbo, 47, of 143 S. Sixth St., Shamokin, pleaded guilty Tuesday to harassment and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to pay a $100 fine plus costs.

An additional charge of simple assault was withdrawn.

Palumbo was charged by Shamokin Cpl. John Brown with striking her live-in boyfriend, Michael Robalik, twice on the left side of his face, causing him to lose consciousness and seek medical treatment. The assault occurred Feb. 10 at the couple's residence.

n SHAMOKIN - Candace N. Sullivan, 38, of 203 S. Franklin St., Shamokin, was held for court Tuesday on a bad check charge when she failed to appear for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III.

Sullivan was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Darwin Tobias III with issuing a bad check in the amount of $460 to Forrest Ketner on July 30.

Sullivan was ordered by Gembic to appear for arraignment April 4 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time she can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Carlos J. Echevarria-Padilla, 27, an inmate at SCI-Coal Township, was found guilty Tuesday of a summary offense of harassment following a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III.

The defendant was sentenced to serve 30 days in state prison, which will run concurrent to the sentence he is already serving.

Additional charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person were dismissed.

Echevarria-Padilla was charged by Trooper Mark Adams of state police at Stonington with stabbing inmate Jaycobe Bryant in the left ear with an ink pen that had a blade attached to it. The assault occurred in a rest room at the prison on Oct. 8.

n SHAMOKIN - Mark Hughes, 22, of 409 N. Rock St., Shamokin, waived to court Tuesday two counts of simple assault and one count each of terroristic threats, harassment and criminal mischief.

Hughes was charged by Shamokin Cpl. John Brown with striking his girlfriend, Kristen Koons, in the eye, causing injury, and threatening to cut Koons' throat with a kitchen knife. Police said the disturbance occurred Jan. 29 at 56 Raspberry Hill. Hughes was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment April 4 at Northumberland County Courthouse, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - David S. Bidding, 37, of 296 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, waived to court Tuesday two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, three counts of hit and run, failure to provide immediate notice of an accident, driving without insurance and careless driving relating to a four-vehicle accident on Dec. 30 in the first block of South Vine Street.

Bidding was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Raymond Siko II with driving a vehicle that struck three parked vehicles, causing moderate damage.

Bidding was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment April 4 at Northumberland County Courthouse, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Edward J. Grimmer, 49, of 119 E. Chestnut St., Shamokin, waived to court Tuesday two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment April 4 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury.

Grimmer was charged by Shamokin Patrolman Scott Weaver in connection with a Jan. 2 incident in the first block of East Independence Street.

At his arraignment, Grimmer can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n SHAMOKIN - Michael Miller, 25, of Bloomsburg, waived to court Tuesday two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and one count of careless driving, driving under suspension, two counts of driving with marijuana in his system and one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.

The charges were filed by Shamokin Patrolman Scott Weaver in connection with an Oct. 30 incident at Sunbury and Sixth streets.

Miller was ordered by Magisterial District Judge John Gembic III to appear for arraignment April 4 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.

n MOUNT CARMEL - A charge of theft by deception against Kayelynne Pickar, 49, of 116 Valley Green Circle, Wyomissing, was withdrawn prior to her preliminary hearing Wednesday after restitution was made to the victim. The hearing was scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.

The charges were filed by Kulpmont Police Chief Richard L. Wilson III after she allegedly received a salon treatment at the Sassy Snippers hair salon in Kulpmont and paid for the services with a check from a closed account.

n MOUNT CARMEL - Dane Bamford, 25, of 631 Hollow Road, Shamokin, waived charges of driving under the influence during his preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge Hugh A. Jones, of Mount Carmel.

The charges were filed by Ralpho Township Police Patrolman Chris Dailey following a traffic stop in the area of the Split Vein Coal Company on Route 61, Weigh Scales.

Bamford was ordered by Jones to appear for arraignment April 4 at Northumberland County Courthouse, Sunbury, at which time he can plead guilty or no contest, or seek a trial by pleading not guilty.
